Lauren Cohen begins her second season as assistant coach for the Pioneers.

Cohen posted a superior four year career at Division I University of Maryland. She graduated from Maryland in 2008, earning a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies.

Cohen helped lead the Tarrapins to the NCAA Division I National Tournament all four years of her career, playing in a combined 74 games, and making 60 appearances in the starting lineup.

She finished her senior year ranking second on her team with 49 goals, and third on the team with a total of 59 points. Cohen was honored as an IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American at the end of the season.

A member of the Irish national team for the past two seasons, along with fellow coaches McNamara, Katie Hogan, and Jackie Rosenzweig, she represented Ireland at European Lacrosse Championships in Finland in August 2008. She was voted MVP for team Ireland following a fifth place finish at the 2009 World Cup held in Prague.

She will be responsible for the Pioneers’ offense, as well as assisting McNamara with recruiting.
