Mike Travers, brother of head coach Maureen Travers, is now in his eighth season as an assistant for the C.W. Post women’s swimming program, possessing a wealth of competitive swimming experience.

During the past several years, Travers has taken over the sprints group and met with tremendous success. The Pioneer spring program has produced several conference champions (2007, 2008, 2009) and numerous NCAA qualifiers and top 8 finishers.

Travers competed for Division-I La Salle, and was a multi-year qualifier for Senior Nationals, where he swam and trained with some of the best athletes and coaches in the United States.

Swimming with coach Jack Nelson at Ft. Lauderdale, Travers trained with future Olympians such as Joel Thomas, Scott Jaffe and Sheila Tamaorina. While with Ft. Lauderdale in 1991, he competed as a member of the Phillips 66, 4x100 freestyle relay unit that captured the gold medal and was invited by Sweden to compete in the Swedish Swim Games.
