Hector Aristy begins his enters his ninth season at LIU Post, and he will continue to recruit and work closely with the Pioneer hitters while aiding in all facets of the program.
A veteran coach at the college level, Aristy enters his 19th season coaching collegiate baseball. He has assisted with the recruitment of teams that have appeared in five NCAA regional tournaments and have won seven conference tournament championships including two at LIU Post (2008 & 2010). Aristy has held the title of assistant, associate, and head baseball coach during his college coaching career and has been part of programs that have won over 350 NCAA games.
Aristy joined the LIU Post staff in 2007, following three years as the head coach at SUNY Old Westbury College. At Old Westbury, Aristy took over the helm of the Panthers in 2004, where he guided the team to 21 victories that earned a bid and the No. 2 seed in the ECAC Metro Regional Tournament. During that time, the Panthers hit over .300 and were nationally ranked in three separate NCAA categories.
Prior to becoming head coach at SUNY Old Westbury, Aristy served as the team’s hitting and recruiting coordinator, beginning in 1995. The Panthers reached the NCAA Regional in 1997, 2000, and 2001 and won five league titles while leading the Knickerbocker Conference in numerous offensive categories. A former player at Old Westbury from 1992-94, Aristy was a two-time captain and was twice named the Most Valuable Player.
Aristy received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Old Westbury in Secondary Education with a concentration in Spanish. He later completed his master’s degree in School Counseling at LIU Post and a second masters in School Administration and Technology at Adelphi University. With thirteen years of teaching experience as a school teacher, Aristy is currently teaching in the Foreign Language department at Island Trees High School.
Aristy is longtime instructor at the New York Baseball Academy and is owner and founder of H2W Sports, a local wood bat company. He currently resides in Farmingdale, N.Y. with his wife, Erin, daughter, Madison, twins, Grayson & Isabel, and step-daughters, Brittany and Kayleigh.
