Pedro Medina enters his first season as an assistant coach with the LIU Post volleyball team in 2016.

He was a three-year starting libero with the men's volleyball team at SUNY New Paltz from 2005-08.

Medina currently holds the program's career (1,191) and single-season (463) records for digs. Additionally, he was crowned as the national statistical champion for digs in 2008, and was twice named the team's Most Valuable Player.

Off the court, Medina has served as a teacher within the New York City Department of Education since 2011.

Medina, who earned his master's degree in Adolescence Education with Middle Childhood Extension from Dowling College in 2011, resides in Lake Grove, N.Y.
