LIU Post Baseball Stadium
The LIU Baseball Stadium features highly-maintained natural grass in the infield and outfield. In 2006, the outfield dimensions were expanded by approximately 10 feet, providing the following dimensions for play: 330’ (LF), 375’ (LC), 400’ (CF), 375’ (RC), and 330’ (RF). After the dugouts were damaged during Hurricane Sandy, new, cement-based dugouts were constructed for both teams to provide shelter from the elements. The facility is enclosed completely by fencing and features two enclosed bullpen areas on either side of the field, along with a batting cage down the right field line.
For the fans, two bleacher seating areas are located along the first and third-base lines in the infield. An elevated working space is located behind home plate which allows for live streaming of events, while also allowing space for local media to provide coverage on a first-come, first-serve basis. In 2015, the stadium received a brand-new Daktronics scoreboard, featuring inning-by-inning scoring and customizable team names to identify the home and away clubs.
