Tom Hespos’ football career spans from a record-setting quarterback at C.W. Post from 1962-64 to a free agent signing with the National Football League’s Green Bay Packers.
During the 1964 season in a 31-10 win over Northeastern, Hespos earned the distinction of becoming the first quarterback in school history to gain 400 passing yards in a single game.
He amassed over 2,000 passing yards in 1964, also a first. Following the season, he selected to the All-ECAC Small College Team and the Little All-America Team. He was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 1963 and 1964 and was captain in 1964. Hespos was the first quarterback to lead C.W. Post to a victory over arch-rival Hofstra University in
1963. The following year, Hespos signed as a free agent with Vince Lombardi’s legendary Green Bay Packers. Hespos resides in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
