Doug Robins was a two-sport athlete at C.W. Post, playing both baseball and basketball from 1969-70.

As a member of the baseball team, Robins helped the Pioneers go undefeated in league play that led to a league championship title in 1970. He was signed as a free agent by the New York Yankees in 1970 and later played for the Levittown Giants of the Stan Musial Baseball League that won a national championship in 1977.

From there, Robins moved on to coaching at Division Avenue and for 31 seasons, posted an astounding record of 696-158-7 while winning two state championships, 25 league championships, nine county championships, seven Long Island championships, and making seven final four appearances. Robins was a finalist for the 2005 National Coach of the Year.

Sadly, Doug was taken away from us too soon, on February 12, 2007.
