John Frascatore pitched for two years at LIU Post from 1989-1991. He totaled a 4-3 record with 3 saves and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 24th round of the 1991 amateur draft.

He was named to the 1994 Double-A All-Star team and was part of the 1995 Cardinals Triple-A Championship team.

He was the winning pitcher on the night Mark McGwire hit his 70th home run in 1998.

In 1999, he tied a Major League record by pitching in three consecutive days and recording the win in those three days.

He then moved on to Taiwan and was won the Cy Young in 2003.
