Women's Lacrosse Coach MacCrate Henning Steps Down At C.W. Post
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (July 10, 2007) – C.W. Post women's lacrosse head coach Karen MacCrate Henning is resigning her post to become the head women's lacrosse coach at Colby College, a Div. III program that competes in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), in Waterville, Maine.
MacCrate Henning, also an associate athletic director at C.W. Post, was the only head coach in the program's eight year history and achieved an overall record of 103-21.
"C.W. Post gave me a great opportunity to begin my head coaching career," remarked MacCrate Henning. "Over the past eight years I've worked with some of the finest individuals and I wish continued success for the Pioneers."
Under MacCrate's tenure, the Pioneers have made six trips to the NCAA post-season tournament, including four to the semifinals. The program has produced 27 IWLCA All-Americans, 15 Academic All-Americans, and seven players of the year.
"We certainly appreciate the outstanding body of work that Coach MacCrate Henning has given not only to the women's lacrosse program but also to the athletic department as a whole," said C.W. Post Athletic Director
Bryan Collins. "She has built an excellent program from scratch and has established a winning tradition that will continue here at C.W. Post. I wish her continued success in her future endeavors."
This past season, MacCrate Henning guided the Pioneers to their second national title and first undefeated season (17-0). The Pioneers captured their first national title in 2001.
