Volleyball Adds Two To Win Column In Tri-Match Against Philadelphia (3-0) And West Chester (3-2)

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (Nov. 1, 2008) – The C.W. Post women's volleyball team picked up two wins as part of a tri-match between Philadelphia University and West Chester University Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers defeated Philadelphia in three sets (25-10, 25-22, 25-20) and held on to defeat West Chester in five sets (38-26, 22-25, 15-25, 25-16, 15-9).
The two wins improve C.W. Post's overall record to 13-12 this season.
In the match against Philadelphia, senior right side hitter
Lucia Krskova (Prievidza, Slovakia) led the Pioneers with 14 kills and 10 assists while junior outside hitter
Sammy Figliolia (Wantagh, N.Y.) added 10 digs. C.W. Post recorded a .265 hitting percentage against the Rams in the three-game set.
Against West Chester, Figliolia led the attack with 18 kills and added nine digs. Freshman outside hitter
Laura Maehlmann (Gundelfingen, Germany) and Krskova each tallied 16 kills. Junior setter
Erica Valeriano (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) added a match-high 36 assists while Krskova added 23 for the Pioneers.
C.W. Post will resume conference play in the East Coast Conference when it plays at Adelphi University on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
