Long Island Ultimate Athlete Magazine: Irish National Lacrosse Team Has Long Island Flavor

One hundred years from now, Irish sports historians may look back at the very first women's lacrosse team to represent their nation in an international competition. If so, they will find eight players from Long Island who helped put Irish women's lacrosse on the world map.

One of the names they'll find is Kristin Godfrey of Stony Brook, who played high school ball at Floral Park and then enjoyed success as a four-year defender at C.W. Post College, where she helped the Pioneers to the Division II championship. She currently works as a performance trainer at CATZ of Long Island in Commack. CATZ is a training center for serious athletes that are run by medical, fitness, sports and business professionals.

The preceding was an excerpt from an article written Nov. 5, by LIUA's Ken Ryan about several past and present C.W. Post women's lacrosse players. The full article may be viewed on the Long Island Ultimate Athlete Magazine's website.
