No. 1 Women's Lacrosse Stays Ahead Of Mercyhurst, 16-8; Williams Nets 100th Goal
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Mar. 14, 2008) – Junior attacker
Jaclyn Napoli (West Islip, N.Y.) scored two goals and notched two assists as the top-ranked C.W. Post women's lacrosse team set aside eighth-ranked Mercyhurst College, 16-8, in its home opener Friday afternoon on Hickox Field.

Elaine Williams (East Islip, N.Y.) netted her 100th career goal with three goals in the game for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers, ranked first in this week's IWLCA poll, improve to 2-0 while Mercyhurst slips to 3-1 overall.
C.W. Post got on the board early and often during the first half, with the first goal scored just 28 seconds into the game from junior midfielder

Sophomore midfielder
Staci Passafiume (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) scored the game's second goal at 28:17 on a free position shot. Passafiume assisted on the next goal, scored by Lyons at 25:44 to make it a 3-0 Pioneer advantage. Senior midfielder
Mallory Poole (Corning, N.Y.) added two back-to-back goals in the half.
Mercyhurst got two back before the break from junior attacker Breanna Haggerty, who led the Lakers in scoring with six goals in the game.

Elaine Williams (East Islip, N.Y.) registered her first goal 11 seconds into the second half. Napoli scored her first goal of the game at 21:28 and added back-to-back goals at 19:53 and 21:34.
Haggerty tallied a free position goal with 3:54 remaining and score the game's final goal with 43 seconds left on the clock.
Senior goalkeeper
Lauren Scipione (East Meadow, N.Y.) made 12 saves in net to improve her season record to 2-0. Sophomore goalkeeper Maeve McGoff made seven saves in net for the Lakers.
The Lakers outshot the Pioneers, 33-31 in the game. The Pioneers were 4-for-6 in free position shots.
C.W. Post will stay at home to host Georgian Court on Mar. 16 at 1 p.m on Hickox Field.
