No. 16 Swimming Finishes 17th At NCAA Div. II Championships
COLUMBIA, Mo. (Mar. 16, 2008) – The C.W. Post swimming team competed at this weekend's NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships and placed a respectable 17th out of 35 schools.
The Pioneers competed in five events and placed in the top 10 in three events.
Junior
Katie Kelly's (Sayville, N.Y.) fourth place finish in the 200 breast with a final time of two minutes, 18.83 seconds was a personal best and set a new team record in the event.

Mariel Andersson (Brastad, Sweden), senior
Ivana Klaric (Split, Croatia), and sophomore
Brittany Roman-Green (Woodstock, N.Y.) in the 200 medley relay that placed eighth out of 16 relay teams and also eclipsed the team's previous record with a new time of one minute, 47.42 seconds.
The Pioneers, consisting of Anderson, Klaric, Roman-Green and sophomore
Josephine Tjernstrom (Bromma, Sweden), also set a new team in the 200 medley relay with a final time of three minutes, 56.13 seconds.
Klaric swam in the 100 butterfly and bettered her previous time when she finished at 58.45 seconds.
Anderson placed 10th out of 16 swimmers in the 100 backstroke when she touched the wall at 57.83 seconds.
