Cluess, Schmidt Receive Top All-Met Honors

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.  (Apr. 11, 2008) – C.W. Post head men's basketball coach Tim Cluess has been named the All-Met Division II Coach of the Year and junior guard Jonathan Schmidt (Centereach, N.Y.) has been named the All-Met Player of the Year by the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Association.
Cluess, in his second season at C.W. Post, guided the Pioneers to a 26-5 overall record, including an 18-2 clip in the conference.  C.W. Post claimed its first regular season and conference titles since the 2003-04 season with a 60-57 win to advance to the NCAA Northeast Regional at Bentley College.  He was voted the East Coast Conference Coach of the Year by his peers.
Schmidt, who was also named to the All-Met First Team, averaged 20.2 points and 5.2 assists per game this year for the Pioneers.  He notched double figures in 28 games played and twice scored 34 points – a career high – during the season.
