Scipione Earns Fourth Goalkeeper Of The Week Honor
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Apr. 14, 2008) – Senior goalkeeper
Lauren Scipione (East Meadow, N.Y.) was named the East Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the fourth time this season, the conference announced Monday.
In a 2-0 week for the Pioneers, Scipione stopped 13 of 18 shots in goal, recording a 2.00 GAA in 90 minutes. She notched nine saves (2 GA) in a complete game win over Bentley and allowed two goals (4 saves) in one half against Saint Anselm. She notched 50th career victory in the process.
C.W. Post (11-0, 3-0 ECC), ranked first in this week's InsideLacrosse poll, will play at conference opponent Dowling College on Apr. 16 before traveling north over the weekend to face Northeast-10 opponents, Franklin Pierce (Apr. 19) and Saint Michael's (Apr. 20).
