Ten In a Row: Women's Lacrosse Remains Top Team In Division II For Tenth Straight Week

BROOKVILLE, N.Y.  (Apr. 22, 2008) – For the tenth straight week, the C.W. Post women's lacrosse team remains the top team in the IWLCA/Under Armour National Division II poll, as announced by the IWLCA on Tuesday. The Pioneers took six of the first-place votes to remain above Limestone, who received three first-place votes.
The Pioneers posted a 3-0 week, with victories over Dowling, Franklin Pierce, and Saint Michael's College. Senior midfielder Mallory Poole (Corning, N.Y.) led the scoring with 11 goals on the week. Junior attacker Katie Hogan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and senior attacker Jenna Miller (Silver Spring, Md.) each scored nine goals on the week, with Miller adding thirteen assists and Hogan adding 11. Senior goalkeeper Lauren Scipione (East Meadow, N.Y.) continued her outstanding performance in the net, making 22 saves and allowing only 13 goals. 

C.W. Post is joined in the poll by second-ranked Limestone, along with East Coast Conference opponent and third-ranked Adelphi University, who remains undefeated at 12-0. West Chester, who also received a first-place vote, is fourth, while Stonehill College is fifth and Lock Haven University is sixth. Mercyhurst, Gannon, and New Haven were the seventh through ninth teams, and Southern New Hampshire and Belmont Abbey are tied for tenth. 
The  Pioneers return home for a three-game home stand, beginning with Northeast-10 opponent Stonehill College on Apr. 27 at 1 p.m. on Hickox Field.
