Felician Edges Out Baseball, 3-2

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 30, 2008) – C.W. Post battled back from a 2-0 deficit to force the game into extra innings but it was no enough as Felician College scored the winning run in the top of the 10th inning to defeat the Pioneers, 3-2, in non-conference baseball action Wednesday afternoon.
Felician improves to 23-20 overall while C.W. Post slips to 23-23.
The Golden Falcons scored single runs on sacrifice flyouts from freshman second baseman Mickey Zudonyi in the second inning and junior centerfielder Vinnie DiBenedetti in the third.
The Pioneers put one run up in the bottom of the fifth when senior designated hitter
Mike Sylvester (Farmingdale, N.Y.) hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield to score sophomore centerfielder

C.W. Post tied the game in the bottom of the eighth when sophomore shortstop
Bryan Bonin (Commack, N.Y.) scored on an infield fielding error.
The Golden Falcons scored the game-winning run in the 10th when DiBenedetti tripled to right field to score second baseman Hector Bello from second base.
Sophomore Jeff Calabrese pitched eight innings to earn his third win of the season. Calabrese allowed two earned runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out two.

Brett Belsky (Brooklyn, N.Y.) took the loss, allowing one earned run on one hit while walking one and striking out one.
DiBenedetti led the Golden Falcons, batting 3-for-4 with two runs batted in and one run scored.
