Women's Lacrosse Remains Top Team In Division II For Eighth Straight Week
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 8, 2008) – For the eighth straight week, the C.W. Post women's lacrosse team remains the top team in the IWLCA/Under Armour National Division II poll, as announced by the IWLCA on Tuesday. The Pioneers took seven of the first-place votes to remain above Limestone, who received three first-place votes.
The Pioneers, who are also the top team in this week's Inside Lacrosse poll, posted a 2-0 record last week with conference wins against Molloy College (18-4) and St. Thomas Aquinas (19-6).
C.W. Post is joined in the poll by East Coast Conference opponent, Adelphi University, who moved up a spot to third and remains undefeated at 7-0. West Chester fell one spot to fourth while Lock Haven University was fifth. Stonehill College was sixth while Gannon and Mercyhurst were tied for seventh. New Haven and Southern New Hampshire rounded out the poll while Pfeiffer and Queens (N.C.) each received votes.
The Pioneers will play at Bentley College on Apr. 11 before hosting another Northeast-10 opponent, Saint Anselm, on Apr. 13 at 12 p.m. on Hickox Field.
