Mallory Poole Named ECC Player Of The Year; Nine Pioneers Earn All-Conference Honors

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 9, 2008) – Senior midfielder Mallory Poole (Corning, N.Y.) has been named the East Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year while nine C.W. Post players received All-Conference recognition.

Poole has started in all 17 games played and has 41 goals and 12 assists for 53 points so far this season. Poole has three game-winning tallies and is averaging 1.6 ground balls a game with 22 caused turnovers.

Adelphi University's Caitlin Carter was named the ECC Rookie of the Year while the University of New Haven's Jen Fallon earned Coach of the Year honors.

Poole, along with senior goalkeeper Lauren Scipione (East Meadow, N.Y.), junior attacker Jaclyn Napoli (West Islip, N.Y.), junior midfielder Katie Hogan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and sophomore defender Kim Williams (Long Valley, N.J.), was named to the conference's First Team.

Senior attacker Jenna Miller (Silver Spring, Md.), senior midfielder Elaine Williams (East Islip, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder Staci Passafiume (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) and sophomore defender Kaurey Foley (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) were selected to the Second Team.

C.W. Post (16-1, 5-1 ECC) is making its record seventh appearance in the upcoming NCAA Championships and will face conference foe Adelphi on May 17 in Houston, Texas.
