DOWINGTON, Pa. (June 14, 2008) – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) held its annual All-America banquet Saturday night and also handed out position player awards.

Senior midfielder Mallory Poole (Corning, N.Y.) was named the Division II Scholar-Athlete of the Year while sophomore defender Kim Williams (Long Valley, N.J.) was selected as Defender of the Year.  In addition, seniors Melissa LaDez (West Babylon, N.Y.), Rebecca McHale (Bellmore, N.Y.) were selected to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.

Poole, a member of the United States national women's lacrosse team, was the ECC Player of the Year. A member of the IWLCA Academic Honor roll from 2005-2007, Poole was a member of the 2008 NCAA All-Tournament Team. A physical education major, she will represent the USA at the 2008 Prague Cup.

Williams, an integral part of the Pioneers' defensive unit, scored three goals while picking up a team-high 53 ground balls, and added 25 caused turnovers and 15 draw controls.

This year marks the second straight year a Pioneer has been named Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Lindsay Goldman received the same honor in 2007.

C.W. Post completed its season with a 17-2 overall record and made its third straight appearance in the NCAA Championship tournament.
