Women's Lacrosse Second In Final IWLCA Poll

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (June 2, 2008) – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released its final poll of the year and C.W. Post is second among the ten schools. 

West Chester University was first after capturing the national championship title with a 13-12 win over the Pioneers. East Coast Conference rival Adelphi tied for third with Limestone College while Stonehill College rounded out the top five in the poll. Lock Haven University, Gannon College, Mercyhurst College, the University of New Haven and Belmont Abbey rounded out the poll with Southern New Hampshire receiving votes.

C.W. Post (17-2) made its second straight appearance in the championship title game after defeating Adelphi, 9-4, in the semifinals in Houston, Texas. The Pioneers boasted five IWLCA All-America selections, including senior midfielder Mallory Poole (Corning, N.Y.), senior goalkeeper Lauren Scipione (East Meadow, N.Y.), junior midfielder Katie Hogan (Farmingdale, N.Y.), junior attacker Jaclyn Napoli (West Islip, N.Y.) and sophomore defender Kim Williams (Long Valley, N.Y.).
