CATONSVILLE, Md. (Aug. 4, 2008) – US Lacrosse held the final round of tryouts for selection of its 2008-09 women's Elite and Developmental teams this weekend (Aug. 1-3) at University of Maryland-Baltimore County, and C.W. Post graduate Mallory Poole (Corning, N.Y.) is one of 49 players that will represent the U.S. women's national teams in 2008-09.
The player pool will be divided into Elite and Developmental teams following US Lacrosse's Stars and Stripes weekend Oct. 10-13. All players are eligible to represent Team USA at the 2009 IFWLA World Cup in Prague, Czech Republic, with the final 18-player roster expected to be announced following the US Lacrosse Champions Challenge in January 2009.
Poole, a 2008 U.S. Developmental Team member, was the lone player named from a non-Division I program.   She led the Pioneers to a national title in 2007 and a national runner-up finish in 2008, and was a four-time IWLCA All-American, tallying 43 goals and 12 assists for 55 total points, also picking up 38 ground balls, notching 44 draw controls, and causing 24 turnovers in 2008.  She finished her career at C.W. Post with 137 goals, placing her second all-time in program history.
