NYIT Rallies From Behind To Defeat Volleyball, 3-2

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2008) –
The New York Institute of Technology rallied from an 0-2 deficit to defeat C.W. Post, 3-2, and won its third East Coast Conference volleyball match of the season Tuesday evening at the Pratt Recreation Center. The set scores were 25-20, 25-19, 17-25, 15-25 and 11-15.
The Bears improve their overall record to 4-12 and 3-3 in the ECC while the Pioneers slip to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in ECC action.
NYIT freshman setter Emily Sayers led the match with 32 assists while teammates Ali Falbo and Shelby Klein each had 10 kills and 11 assists. Sophomore right side hitter Nina Cicero tallied 12 kills and 12 digs for the Bears.
Senior right side hitter #Lucia Krskova# (Prievidza, Slovakia) nearly had a triple double with 13 kills, 12 assists and nine digs for the Pioneers.
Junior outside hitter #Sammy Figliolia# (Wantagh, N.Y.) added 12 kills and 12 digs while sophomore setter #Amanda Ostapow# (East Setauket, N.Y.) led the Pioneers with 20 assists.
C.W. Post will battle at Molloy College on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. and will next host Adelphi University on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Pratt Recreation Center.
