Poole Receives East Region Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year Honors
ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 30, 2008)- The National Division II Conference Commissioners' Association released its 2007-08 Regional and National Division II Scholar-Athlete Awards Winners Tuesday morning. C.W. Post graduate Mallory Poole was tabbed as the East Region Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
A Physical Education major, Poole was a member of the C.W. Post Women's Lacrosse team from 2004-08. She helped lead the Pioneers to the NCAA Division II National Championships for three straight years, including a championship win in 2007. Poole is also a member of United States national women's lacrosse team, the only Division II player on the squad. Earlier this year, she garnered honors as ECC Player of the Year, IWLCA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and was named to the 2008 NCAA All-Tournament Team as well a being a first team All-American pick. She also nabbed the title of Inside Lacrosse and WomensLacrosse.com midfielder of the year.
Recently Poole has been named a member of the United States 2008-09 national team. She is also continuing her career from the sidelines, assisting Head Coach Amy Patton at Dartmouth College. Patton served as Poole's head coach on the 2007-08 United States national women's Developmental Team.
