LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (Jan. 31, 2009) – Junior
Brittany Roman-Green (Woodstock, N.Y.) captured three wins but Siena College rallied to defeat C.W. Post, 132-96, Saturday afternoon at the Siena Swim Center.
Roman-Green combined with senior
Mariel Andersson (Brastad, Sweden), junior
Dora Biocic (Zagreb, Croatia) and sophomore
Riley Cassidy (Cambridge, Ontario) as the Pioneers finished well ahead to win the 400-yard Medley Relay with a final time of four minutes, 06.38 seconds.
Roman-Green went on to post wins in the 50 Freestyle (25.10) and the 100 Backstroke (1:01.52).
Cassidy also posted an individual win in the 100 Butterfly and touched the wall first at 59.91.
Freshman
Marta Kristic (Rego Park, N.Y.) had a pair of win in the 200 Freestyle (1:57.97) and 100 Freestyle (54.58).
Senior
Stephanie Palmeri (Seaford, N.Y.) went the distance to win the 1000 Freestyle, setting a new personal record with a final time of 10:55.76.
The Pioneers are back in action Feb. 7 at the East Stroudsburg Invitational in preparation for the Metropolitan Championships at Rutgers University Feb. 20-22.
