Men's Basketball Climbs To Third In This Week's NABC Poll; Highest Ranking in School History
KANSAS CITY (Jan. 6, 2009) – The C.W. Post men's basketball team's 9-0 record is the best start in school history, and now the Pioneers have a ranking to match, as they jumped to third in the first NABC/Division II Coaches Poll of the 2009 calendar year.
The Pioneers are among only five remaining undefeated teams in all of Division II.
Two other unbeaten teams, Findlay (Ohio) (10-0) and Southwest Baptist (11-0), are first and second, with Findlay receiving seven first place votes, and Southwest Baptist with one, respectively.
The Pioneers (9-0, 3-0 ECC) defeated Assumption College, the College of Saint Rose, and Goldey-Beacom in a 3-0 week.
C.W. Post is the only Northeast team ranked in the poll. Northeast-10 members Saint Anselm College, Merrimack College and Stonehill College each received votes.
