BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 28, 2009) – Niclas Dahlin (Kungalv, Sweden) and Betim Bajrami (Helsingborg, Sweden) each scored two goals, and Jetone Shoshi (East Hampton, N.Y.) added two assists, as the C.W. Post men's soccer team rolled past Concordia to an 8-1 win in non-conference action on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. Prior to the game, seniors Shoshi, James Stevenson (Brighton, England), Kris Frick (Warwick, Bermuda), Shane Flanagan (Dublin, Ireland) and Mark Whitehouse (Manchester, England) were honored in the Pioneers' senior day.
C.W. Post improves to 10-5-1, while Concordia slips to 2-14 overall.
The Pioneers jumped on top just two minutes into play, as Bajrami scored on a header, with Andreas Jansson (Tyreso, Sweden) picking up the assists.
Dahlin then scored the first of his two back-to-back goals at 8:25, as Shoshi's shot rebounded off Concordia goalie Guilherme Ferreira, and came to the feet of Dahlin, who sent a shot into the open net for a 2-1 lead.
Dahlin struck again at 10:32, as he took a pass from Angel Velez (Central Islip, N.Y.), beat Ferreira one-on-one, then sent a shot into the open net for a 3-1 advantage. 
Goals by Bajrami and Whitehouse, both assisted by Shoshi, gave C.W. Post a 5-0 lead going into the half. 
In the 51st minute in the second half, Emanuel Messina (Lynbrook, N.Y.) took a pass from Matt Madarasz (Smithtown, N.Y.) and beat Ferreira one-on-one for a 6-0 lead.
At 64:42, Messina sent a cross in front of the net to Joe Oduwnue (Maplewood, N.J.), who sent a shot into the upper left corner.
Concordia finally broke up the shutout when Rafael Espinoza scored on a free kick from the left side of the field.
Stevenson rounded out the scoring at 69:15, as his 15-yard shot found the back of the net on a pass from Kohsro Panah (Helsingborg, Sweden).
The game was called in the 70th minute due to poor field conditions.
C.W. Post outshot Concordia 26-10 and held a 3-0 edge in corner kicks. Flanagan earned the win, playing 11:46 of shutout goalkeeping. Ed Shone (Liverpool, England) played for 47:37 and made five saves, and Stephan Rigaud (West Hempstead, N.Y.) allowed one goal in 10:48.
For Concordia, Ferreira made nine stops on the day. 
C.W. Post will play its last game of the regular season at Nyack on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m.
