Swimming Competes At Day Two Of Metropolitan Championships

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Feb. 21, 2009)
– The C.W. Post swimming team competed in day Day Two of the Metropolitan Championships and the Pioneers continued to pile on NCAA qualifying times.
 
In the 200-yard Medley Relay, senior Mariel Andersson (Brastad, Sweden), juniors Brittany Roman-Green (Woodstock, N.Y.) and Josephine Tjernstrom (Bromma, Sweden) along with sophomore Riley Cassidy (Cambridge, Ontario) placed second overall with a final time of one minute, 46.23 seconds and earned an “A” cut in the process.
 
Cassidy went on to capture third in the 100 butterfly with a final time of 56.83 seconds, earning an “A” cut in the process. 
 
In the 100 backstroke, Andersson qualified for an “A” qualifying and Roman-Green received a “B” qualifying standard.
