Andersson Earns Second All-American Honor; Swimming Wraps Up NCAA Swimming Championships At Division II Festival

HOUSTON (March 14, 2009) – Senior
Mariel Andersson (Brastad, Sweden) earned her second All-American honor when she placed seventh in the 200-yard backstroke at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Houston. The Pioneers finished 20th out of 33 teams with 37 points.
Drury University was the overall winner with 618.5 points to claim the team championship.
Andersson earlier received an “A” qualifying time in the 200 back when she completed the event at two minutes, 02.82 seconds. She finished seventh in the event with a final time of 2:04.80.
Junior
Brittany Roman-Green (Woodstock, N.Y.) received Honorable Mention All-America in the same event.
