No. 2 C.W. Post Selected To Host NCAA East Regional

INDIANAPOLIS (March 8, 2009) C.W. Post has earned the top seed and will serve as host of the eight-team NCAA Division II Northeast Men's Basketball East Regional in the upcoming NCAA Championship tournament, it was announced Sunday evening from the organization's Indianapolis headquarters. 
 
In all, 64 teams were selected to eight regions in this year's tournament, which begins March 14 at host sites and continues March 15 with the regional final on March 17. 
 
C.W. Post (27-0), who earlier on Sunday won its second East Coast Conference Championship title with a 62-56 win over the University of Bridgeport, returns to the tournament for the second straight year. The Pioneers will face eighth-seeded Philadelphia University (25-5), who won the Central Athletic Conference Championship with a 63-56 win over Bloomfield College.
 
Bentley University (24-6) was named the No. 2 seed in the regional and will face off against No. 7 Bridgeport (22-8). University of Massachusetts-Lowell earned the No. 3 seed and will match up against No. 6 Merrimack College (20-8). 
 
Assumption College (22-9), who captured the Northeast-10 Championship title with a 77-63 win over Le Moyne College, garnered the No. 4 seed and will play fifth-seeded Stonehill College (21-7)
