Women's Lacrosse Moves Up To Second In Latest IWLCA Poll
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 1, 2009)- The IWLCA released its weekly poll Tuesday afternoon, placing C.W. Post up to the second place slot. Previously ranked third, the Pioneers move comes after a 2-0 week in which C.W. Post defeated Belmont Abbey College, 15-7, and Pfeiffer University by a 18-13 margin.
The week showed a lot of movement in Division II women's lacrosse, as former first-place team West Chester University fell to fifth place. Adelphi claimed the top spot, while Mercyhurst College jumped to third and Limestone College remained fourth. The Golden Rams claimed the fifth rank, followed by Gannon University and the University of New Haven. Lock Haven University, Stonehill College, and Dowling College rounded out the top ten, respectively.
The Pioneers have posted an overall record of 6-1, with their only loss coming from Division I Davidson College in their first contest of the season.
C.W. Post is back in action Saturday, April 4 as they host Bentley College. The game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. following the No.3 C.W. Post men's lacrosse match-up against top-ranked N.Y.I.T. at noon.
