Women's Lacrosse Remains Second In IWLCA Polls
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 7, 2009)- The IWLCA released its weekly national poll Tuesday afternoon, placing C.W. Post in the second place slot for the third consecutive week. The ranking comes after a 2-0 week for C.W. Post, as it defeated No. 10 New Haven, 14-11, and Merrimack, 22-5.
ECC rival Adelphi University remained ahead of the Pioneers, receiving nine place votes as the Panthers held on to the top slot. C.W. Post recieved one first place vote, and was followed by Mercyhurst, who returned to the third spot, Limestone College, who fell one spot to fourth, and Lock Haven, who the Pioneers will face on Sunday, April 19 at noon. West Chester, Gannon University, Stonehill, Belmont Abbey and New Haven rounded out the top ten.
The Pioneers take the field again Wednesday, April 8th as they host No. 8 New Haven. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
