Women's Lacrosse To Host Lacrosse For Autism On May 2
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 28, 2009) - The C.W. Post women's lacrosse team will be hosting Lacrosse for Autism as they take on Adelphi in their final regular-season home game of the year on Saturday, May 2 at 1 p.m.
Lacrosse for Autism is a not-for-profit organization with the mission to increase autism awareness through events, programs and clinics in the sport of Lacrosse.
Lacrosse for Autism was created by Brendan and Jenn Fleming in January, 2007 with the support of Lacrosse Unlimited Inc. The Flemings' son was diagnosed at twenty-two months with PDD-NOS (pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified) on the Autism spectrum. His development relies continuously on the support and love of his teachers and therapists. Brendan and Jenn created Lacrosse for Autism events to celebrate and show appreciation to all teachers and therapists of children with autism and bring autism awareness to the lacrosse community.
All donations from Saturday's event will benefit Lacrosse Buddies Program. There will also be a table set up by Lacrosse for Autism for more information.
