Women's Lacrosse Maintains Second Place In Latest IWLCA Polls
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 28, 2009)- The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released its weekly poll Wednesday afternoon, as C.W. Post remained a second place pick for the fifth consecutive week. The recent IWLCA rankings come after a 3-0 week for the Pioneers, including an 18-16 win over No. 10 Stonehill College. C.W. Post now improves to 15-1 overall, and a perfect 3-0 in the East Coast Conference.
The Pioneers remain on the heels of undefeated ECC rival Adelphi University. C.W. Post is followed by Lock Haven University, who moved up to the third place slot, and Limestone College who fell to fourth. There was little movement throughout the rest of the poll, as Mercyhurst College, West Chester University, Gannon University, and the University of New Haven maintained their fifth through eighth place slots. Stonehill College and Belmont Abbey College rounded out the top ten, tying for ninth place.
The Pioneers are back in action as they honor their seniors, Saturday, May 2nd in an ECC matchup against No. 1 Adelphi University at 1 p.m.
