Women's Lacrosse Remains Second In IWLCA Polls
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 7, 2009)- The IWLCA released its weekly national poll Tuesday afternoon, placing C.W. Post in the second place slot for the second consecutive week. The ranking comes after a 2-0 week for C.W. Post, as it defeated St. Thomas Aquinas 20-1 and Bentley College 23-5, improving the team's overall record to 7-1.
ECC rival Adelphi University remained ahead of the Pioneers, receiving all ten first place votes as the Panthers clinched the top slot. C.W. Post was followed by Limestone College, who jumped to the number three spot, followed by Mercyhurst College and Westchester University. Lock Haven University rose to sixth place while Gannon University and the University of New Haven dropped to seventh and eighth, respectively. Stonehill remained in ninth place while previously unranked Belmont Abbey College rounded out the top ten.
The Pioneers take the field again Wednesday, April 8th as they host No. 8 New Haven. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
