BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 20, 2009) - The C.W. Post Department of Athletics recently announced that Shellane Ogoshi has been named the head women's volleyball coach.
“It has always been my dream to be a Head Coach at the collegiate level,” stated Ogoshi.  “I am humbled and grateful that Bryan Collins and the Athletic Administration have afforded me this opportunity.  I am excited to take over a program with such potential and support and look forward to being a part of the C.W. Post Community.”

Ogoshi, one of the finest players in neighboring Hofstra University volleyball history, becomes the 12th head coach in program history.
“We are excited to introduce Shellane Ogoshi as our head volleyball coach,” said C.W. Post Athletic Director Bryan Collins. “She has been a great player in an extremely competitive conference and has gained valuable experience this year as an assistant coach at the DI level. Coach Ogoshi is a proven recruiter and has contacts that should strengthen an already solid program.”
Ogoshi spent one season as an assistant coach at Hofstra, where she assisted with all facets of the program.
The Hawaii native put together a standout four year career for the Pride, as evidenced by her jersey retirement in the fall of 2008. Ogoshie played in 118 matches during her career and tallied 4,597 assists and 1,660 digs. She was a two-time Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Setter of the Year (2005 and 2006) and also earned 2005 CAA Player of the Year accolades. The 2004 CAA Rookie of the Year and a CAA All-Rookie team selection, Ogoshi went on to earn All-CAA first team honors in each of her next three seasons. In addition, she was an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-Region pick as a sophomore and was the CAA Championship Most Outstanding Player in 2006.

In addition to her coaching stint at Hofstra, Ogoshi has also coached club volleyball with the Pakela Volleyball Club (Honolulu, HI) since 2004 and the TCA Volleyball Club (Hempstead, NY) since 2008.

A two-time ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, Ogoshi graduated with a degree in International Business and Finance in 2007 and currently resides in Levittown, N.Y.
