No. 2 Women's Lacrosse Receives Record Eighth NCAA Championship Bid; Pioneers Will Host New Haven May 9

INDIANAPOLIS (May 3, 2009) – The NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Committee has chosen the six-team field for the upcoming NCAA Championships and C.W. Post has been selected as the second seed in the North region, it was announced Sunday evening.
 
The Pioneers (15-2, 3-1 ECC) will host third-seeded University of New Haven (16-3) in the first round on May 9 with the winner advancing to take on top-seeded Adelphi University (16-0) in Salem, Virginia May 16.
 
In the south region, second-seeded Mercyhurst College (16-3) will host third-seed Lock Haven University (14-3) in the first round. The winner will advance to play top-seeded Limestone College (17-2).
 
C.W. Post has participated in the NCAA Championship tournament a record eight times, including the last three seasons. The Pioneers have advanced to the championship final the last two years and won their second national title in 2007 against West Chester University.
