Women's Lacrosse Ranks Second In IWLCA Polls For Sixth Straight Week
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 7, 2009)- The C.W. Post women's lacrosse team was ranked second in the weeks IWLCA Poll, released Wednesday afternoon. The Pioneers currently post a 15-2 overall record, 3-1 in conference, as they advance to the NCAA Division II North Regional.
Conference rival Adelphi University remains undefeated in the top rank of the poll, receiving all ten first place votes this week. The Pioneers are followed by Lock Haven University, Limestone College, and Mercyhurst College, who maintain the third, fourth, and fifth place spots, respectively. The University of New Haven moves up to spots to sixth place, followed by West Chester University in seventh place and Gannon University falls to eighth. Previously unranked Dowling College earns the ninth place spot while Stonehill College rounds out the top ten.
The Pioneers are back in action Saturday, May 9, as they host the University of New Haven in the NCAA Division II North Regional. The winner of Saturday's contest will advance to the NCAA Division II Semifinal game in Salem, Virginia.
