Volleyball Fifth In ECC Preseason Poll
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (August 26, 2009) – The C.W. Post volleyball team was selected to finish fifth in the East Coast Conference preseason coaches poll, released Wednesday afternoon. The Pioneers completed the 2008 season with a 14-14 overall record, including a 9-7 mark in conference play.
Reigning ECC Champion Dowling College received six first-place votes to lead the poll. The University of Bridgeport finished second, followed by Queens College and NYIT. Molloy College and Mercy College rounded out the poll placing sixth and seventh, respectively.
Under first-year coach Shellane Ogoshi, the Pioneers return six letterwinners and welcome three additions to the squad. C.W. Post opens it season Aug. 27 at the Indiana (Pa.) University Invitational and will face off against Lake Erie College and IUP.
