No. 23 Women's Swimming Closes Out Mets Championships With Fifth Place Finish

PISCATWAY, N.J. (Feb. 21, 2010) – The C.W. Post women's swimming team concluded competition at the Metropolitan Conference Swimming Championships Sunday afternoon, placing fifth in a field of 20 teams.
Senior
Brittany Roman-Green (Woodstock, N.Y.) earned a “B” cut in the 200 backstroke, finishing second at two minutes, 07.20 seconds.
Freshman
Cornelia Hanes (Stockholm, Sweden) also earned a “B” cut in the 100 freestyle, finishing second at 52.71 seconds.
Senior
Josephine Tjernstrom (Bromma, Sweden) had a fifth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke, clocking in at 2:28.19.
Junior
Riley Cassidy (Cambridge, Ontario) finished first and earned herself an “A” cut in the 200 butterfly with a final time of 2:06.48. Freshman
Carly Marshall (Cornwall, N.Y.) was fourth while junior
Sofi Mathsson (Stockholm, Sweden) placed eighth.
The Pioneers, consisting of Hanes, Cassidy, Roman-Green and
Sandra Kirstein (
Hollviken, Sweden) took a fourth-place finish in the 400 free relay with a final time of 3:33.10.
