– A 12-goal tally in the first half gave C.W. Post all the momentum it needed as the Pioneers easily defeated Pfeiffer University, 19-4, in a Sunday afternoon women's lacrosse non-conference contest at the Savern School field.
 
C.W. Post improves to 7-0 overall while Pfeiffer drops to 8-4.
 
Sophomore attacker Lauren Spagnoletta (West islip, N.Y.) led the Pioneers with a game-high four goals and an assist while senior midfielder Brianna Jackolski (Shirley, N.Y.) and sophomores Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.) and Nan Mayott (Islip, N.Y.) all chipped in three goals.
 
The Pioneers led 6-2 through the first 10 minutes of play before opening the game up with an 11-0 run that carried over into the second half and was capped off with a goal from Mayott on a free-position shot at 13:43.
 
Junior goalkeeper Sam Powers (Holbrook, N.Y.) got her seventh win in goal, making three saves in goal for the Pioneers. Freshman Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) closed out the final 16 and a half minutes of play to secure the win.
 
Junior attacker Michelle Fucich (Seaford, N.Y.) finished the game with two goals and an assist and senior midfielder Kian Lyons (Farmingdale, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder Ashley Janelli (Glen Head, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Abigail Ross (Miller Place, N.Y.) all had one goal in the game.
 
Junior midfielder Jessica Kennedy (Perth, Australia) led the Falcons with two goals and an assist. Sophomore goalkeeper Caitlin Ryan (Perth, Australia) made 11 saves in goal.
 
C.W. Post returns to action on March 31 when it plays at the University of New Haven for a 3:30 p.m. start.
