Spagnoletta Scores Five As No. 2 Women's Lacrosse Runs Past Queens, 22-3

FLUSHING, N.Y. (April 14, 2010)
– No. 2 C.W. Post scored 14 first half goals enroute to a 22-3 win in its first-ever meeting Queens College in East Coast Conference women's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon on the Campus Field.
 
The win improves C.W. Post to 10-0 and 3-0 in conference play while Queens drops to 1-9 overall and 0-4 in the ECC.
 
Sophomore attacker Lauren Spagnoletta (West Islip, N.Y.) led all scorers with five goals, all in the first half. 
 
The Pioneers also got help from junior attacker Michelle Fucich (Seaford, N.Y.), sophomore attacker Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder Nan Mayott (Islip, N.Y.) and freshman attacker Abigail Ross (Miller Place, N.Y.), who each tallied a pair of goals in the contest. 
 
Senior attacker Caitlin Heraghty (Levittown, N.Y.) registered a game-high three assists for C.W. Post.
 
Freshman Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) got the start in goal for the Pioneers and made three saves during the first 30 minutes of action. Junior Sam Powers (Holbrook, N.Y.) closed out the game and made two saves.
 
Freshman midfielder Sarah Boucher (Oceanside, N.Y.) led the Knights with two goals. Freshman goalkeeper Allison Breakey (Frankfort, Ill.) made 13 saves in goal.
 
C.W. Post is back in action when it goes out on the road to play at No. 3 Lock Haven University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
