Women's Lacrosse Remains Third In Latest IWLCA Poll
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 6, 2010)- The C.W. Post Pioneers women's lacrosse team was ranked third for the fourth consecutive week in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll. The rankings come after the Pioneers posted a 1-0 week with a 19-7 victory over the University of New Haven, a win which knocked the previously tenth ranked Chargers out of this week's poll. The win improved the Pioneers to a perfect 7-0 overall record.
This week's poll saw few changes, as Adelphi University remained the top team in the division with 100 points while receiving all ten first place votes. Lock Haven University maintained its second place ranking with 85 points and an 8-0 overall record. The Pioneers were followed by Limestone College (4), Mercyhurst College (5), Stonehill College (6), West Chester University (7), Dowling College (8), and Gannon University (9). The Merrimack Warriors edged into this week's poll to round out the top ten.
C.W. Post takes the field again Wednesday, April 7, as they host East Coast Conference rival Molloy College in the Pioneers' first conference game of the season. Game time is slotted for 4 p.m.
