Women's Lacrosse Takes Over Top Spot In IWLCA Poll
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 1, 2010)-The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released its weekly poll, as the C.W. Post Pioneers took hold of the top spot in Division II. The jump for the C.W. Post comes after the Pioneers posted an overall 1-0 week last week, toppling previously top-ranked Adelphi in a 21-16 decision. The Pioneers currently hold an overall 15-1 record, 6-0 in the East Coast Conference.
Adelphi moves to number two in the poll this week.
The PSAC leads conferences with four schools, starting with Lock Haven at No. 3. West Chester, the PSAC runner-up, moves to No. 5 while Mercyhurst drops to No. 6 and Gannon holds at No. 8. Top-ranked C. W. Post leads the ECC contingent and is joined by No. 10 Molloy. No. 2 Adelphi and No. 7 Stonehill hail from the Northeast-10 while No. 4 Limestone is the sole representative of Conference Carolinas.
C.W. Post is back in action Wednesday, May 5, as they travel to take on ECC rival Dowling College at 7 p.m.
