Graczyk Named ECAC Player of the Year
CAPE COD, Mass. (June 4, 2010) - – C.W. Post outfielder Zack Graczyk (Carmel, N.Y.) has been named the 2010 ECAC Division II Baseball Player of the Year, it was announced the the organization on Friday afternoon.
Graczyk had a stellar freshman campaign in which he amassed an East Coast Conference -leading batting average of .391, in the leadoff spot for the Pioneers. He also led the ECC in on-base percentage (.459) and runs scored (48) while ranking second with 63 hits on the season. The two-time ECC Player of the Week recorded a 2-2 mark on the mound along with three saves while compiling a 1.64 ERA in his 22 innings pitched. In the outfield, Graczyk compiled a perfect fielding percentage.
The Pioneers finished with a school record 32 wins, advanced to their second NCAA Regional in the past three seasons, and won their first game at the Regional in over 25 years.
