Chelcee Hew Came Away with One First Place Finish and Two Second Place Finishes

Tamara Garriock and Chelcee Hew Earn First Place Finishes at the College of New Jersey

– Freshmen Tamara Garriock (Duncan, Canada) and Chelcee Hew (Savage, Minn.) were the only Pioneer swimmers to earn first place finishes on the day as the College of New Jersey defeated C.W. Post, 185-77. The College of New Jersey also earned competition points through two diving events.

Garriock came away with the first of two first place finishes for the Pioneers when she touched the wall in a time of 5:14.15 during the 500 Free. A second place finish during the 100 Breaststroke also gave the Pioneers points.
 
Hew earned her first victory during the 200 Individual Medley, the 13th event of the day. The freshman touched the wall in a time of 2:16.49. Hew also earned points for her team during second place finishes in the 1000 Free and 200 Breaststroke.
 
The next meet scheduled for the swimming team will be this Friday, January 21, as the team will travel to Fordham University for a 6 p.m. dual meet.
