BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 19, 2011) - The C.W. Post women's lacrosse team joined the Lupus Foundation of America in the Walk-Along for Lupus on Sunday, Oct. 16.

Thousands of walkers participate in nearly 70 cities across the nation to raise urgently needed funds for life-saving research and support programs that help the estimated 1.5 million Americans who are affected by this unpredictable and potentially life-threatening disease.

Over the last 18 years, the Walk-Along for Lupus, Long Island`s first and longest running Lupus walk, has raised almost 2.9 million dollars, to help those with lupus in the Long Island/Queens area live better lives, while funding research to help everyone with the disease find a cure.

The money raised at the Walk-Along for Lupus is responsible for more than 60% of the funds used to keep our programs running, and allow us to continue to donate money to research through the Lupus Research Institute every year.
