Bonneau and Williams Earn ECC Weekly Honors

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Dec. 12, 2011)- The East Coast Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and senior guard Stefan Bonneau (Middletown, N.Y.) earned Player of the Week while freshman forward Tyuan Williams (Newark, N.J.) was named the Rookie of the Week.  

Bonneau scored 26 points to lead the Pioneers to an ECC-opening win over NYIT. He went 11-21 from the floor and grabbed three rebounds and two steals, while adding two assists in the effort.

Williams registered his first collegiate double-double as he scored 14 points and pulled down 18 rebounds, the latter an ECC-high so far this season. He shot 6-10 from the floor, and also grabbed nine offensive and nine defensive boards in addition to blocking two shots.

C.W. Post improved to 7-1 to start the season and opened up its East Coast Conference play with a win over NYIT on Wednesday evening. Senior guard Stefan Bonneau (Middletown, N.Y.) scored 26 points to lead three Pioneers in double figures, and C.W. Post outmuscled the Bears behind 18 rebounds from freshman Tyuan Williams (Newark, N.J.), leading men's basketball to an 87-72 victory. The Pioneers shot 47% from the floor (31-66) and 71% from the free throw line (22-31). C.W. Post struggled mightily from deep, making just 3-17 attempts from beyond the arc, but held a sizeable advantage on the glass, 47-34, leading to 21 second chance points. The Pioneer continue action this Tuesday as they travel to non-conference Adelphi for a 7 p.m. matchup.
