C.W. Post Athletics Hall Of Fame Announces Class Of 2011

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 10, 2011) The C.W. Post Department of Athletics announced the candidates for the 2011 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, which will take place Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Milleridge Cottage in Jericho, N.Y.
 “Congratulations to the Class of 2011 honorees,” says C.W. Post Director of Athletics Bryan Collins. “This year's class spans the entire history of the department and each person left their mark on the playing field and court. They will be remembered forever for their considerable contributions to our athletic department and Long Island University/C.W. Post community.”
Those being inducted include: Tom Bennett '80, a two-time honorable mention All-American football player who re-wrote the record back during his three years as starting tailback for the Pioneers; Joe Tarangelo '83, a standout baseball player who still holds several career records;  Tim McIntee '88, a three-time All-American lacrosse player; Kristen Schwall '95, a NYCAC Student Athlete of the Year on the softball diamond who owns the single season and career stolen base records; and the 1996 NCAA Championship Men's Lacrosse Team, who under head coach Tom Postel, was the first C.W. Post team to ever win a national championship in any sport with a 15-10 win over Adelphi.
