The C.W. Post men's basketball team saw its 10-game win streak snapped as the Pioneers dropped an East Coast Conference matchup to the University of Bridgeport, 75-65, on Thursday evening in Hubbell Gym.

The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team never trailed in the game, as the loss drops C.W. Post into a three-way tie atop the ECC standings with Bridgeport and Queens, with all three teams holding an 11-3 record in conference play.

C.W. Post suffers its first loss in over a month as it slips to 14-7 overall. With the win, UB improves to 11-8 overall.

Bridgeport opened the game with a 12-2 run and gradually pushed their lead to as many as 20 points, with the Pioneers trailing 27-17 with 4:08 remaining in the half. The Purple Knights took a 38-20 advantage into the locker rooms at halftime.

C.W. Post chipped away at the hosts' double-digit lead during the second half, and the Pioneers closed the gap to only seven points, 48-41, just before the midway point of the second half. However UB once again pulled away and pushed the lead back to double digits courtesy of a 12-1 run that saw Bridgeport push out to a 60-42 lead with 7:05 remaining. The closest the Pioneers would get for the remainder of the game was a nine-point deficit with 22 seconds remaining.

Sophomore Jonathan Kohler led C.W. Post with 22 points to tie Boykin for game-high scoring honors. Junior guard Stefan Bonneau (Middletown, N.Y.) added 13 points, and junior guard Billy Butler (Elmont, N.Y.) tallied 10 assists on the evening.
